About AquaStars
Welcome to AquaStars, a family-run swim school that was founded by the Botelho brothers in summer 2023. Nestled just outside the town of Tottenham, Ontario, AquaStars is not just a swimming lesson company; it’s a testament to their shared passion for water, safety, and unlocking potential.
Our Story
As siblings raised by a mother who is very passionate about swimming, we have been immersed in water our whole lives. Countless hours spent in the water for courses and recreation, combined with the fun we had learning new strokes with our instructors has developed in us a love for swimming. That is what inspired us to teach, because we want to share this joy with our community and prevent drowning at the same time.

Luca
Hi! I’m a York University student going into my second year of Engineering. I am a self motivated and dedicated student, achieving straight A’s in my program. In addition, connecting with people and striving to be my best self is what landed me the valedictorian role for my graduating class.
As previous parents have told me, I am an excellent teacher because I am great at connecting with and understanding my students. I credit this to living around and working with younger kids my whole life since I’m the oldest in my entire extended family. I also have leadership experience from my various extracurricular and school activities.
My previous experiences as a swimming instructor make it easier for me to recognize the needs of my students on both a mental and physical level, which helps them progress with much greater efficiency. I really enjoy helping students become safe swimmers so they can feel confident in the water.

Hi! I’m a a 16 year old honour roll student at St Thomas Aquinas high school. I graduated from my previous school with two awards, in addition to being the valedictorian. I am known by others to be a personable, determined, and caring individual who holds himself to high standards both academically and physically.
